Theif’s Knot
Another interesting knot that I learned to tie at the summer camp I went with my son to is the thief’s knot. This is a mimic knot… It mimics the look of a square knot. The key difference is that the loose ens on this knot are on opposite ends of the knot instead of the same side like the square knot. People would use this knot to secure their bags to alert them that someone had gotten into their stuff… which they could tell because it was retied with the square knot.
I went with a glass texture for the “rope” on this one, with some gold plating on the insets. Made for a really pretty knot.
