Celtic Trinity
Once I had done the Leonardo da Vinci knot, I became fascinated with infinite knots, and one of the first ones I tried was the trinity knot (3.1) It’s often called the Celtic Trinity knot. A number of the Celtic trinity variations that I saw also had the circle intertwined, so I did that here. I gave the knot (and circle) three materials… Green and silver metallic for the knot itself and the wood for the circle. I added the purple for the background to complete the color triad (Yellow wood, green metal… purple is the third in that triad). I felt the round shapes in the background would repeat the theme of the circle of wood as well as the curves in the knot.
